Setting Up Your Affiliate Program

0 viewsUpdated 7/29/2026

Let other creators promote your courses for a commission, with tracked links and automatic payout calculation.

An affiliate program lets other creators (or your own students) promote your courses in exchange for a commission on sales they refer — without needing a separate third-party affiliate platform.

Setting Up the Program

  1. Go to Sales → Affiliates and enable your affiliate program.
  2. Set a default commission rate — this can be a flat percentage across all products or customized per course.
  3. Optionally configure affiliate tiers, offering higher commission rates to your top-performing affiliates as an incentive to keep promoting.

Inviting Affiliates

  1. Share your affiliate signup link with creators you want to invite, or open it publicly if you want anyone to be able to join.
  2. Each accepted affiliate gets a unique tracked referral link for your courses.
  3. Sales made through that link are automatically attributed to the affiliate, with commission calculated based on your set rate.

Tracking Performance

From the Affiliates dashboard, you can see performance per affiliate — clicks, conversions, and commission owed — without exporting anything to a spreadsheet. This makes it straightforward to identify your best-performing affiliates and consider offering them a higher tier.

Paying Affiliates

Koursely calculates and tracks commission owed, but since payments run through your own BYOK gateway account rather than a Koursely-controlled pool of funds, you are responsible for actually paying out affiliate commissions — this is a manual payout you make from your own bank account or gateway, based on the commission totals Koursely reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I set different commission rates for different courses?

Yes — commission rates can be set at the default program level or overridden per individual course.

Can my own students become affiliates?

Yes — there's no restriction preventing an enrolled student from also joining your affiliate program and earning commission on referrals.

What happens if an affiliate's referred sale is refunded?

Commission tracking reflects the underlying order status, so a refunded sale should not count toward payable commission — always cross-check your payout totals against current order status before paying out.
