How to Connect Your Payment Gateways (Stripe, Razorpay, PhonePe, Cashfree, MobiKwik)
Connect your own payment gateway accounts so every sale settles directly to your bank account with 0% platform commission.
Koursely supports five native payment gateways. Because this is a BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys) setup, you connect your own merchant account for each — sales settle directly to your bank on your gateway's own schedule, and Koursely takes 0% commission regardless of which gateway (or how many) you connect.
Available Gateways
| Gateway | Best For | Payment Methods Covered |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | International sales | Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and 135+ currencies |
| Razorpay | Indian sales, especially UPI-heavy audiences | UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets, international cards |
| PhonePe | Indian UPI-first checkout | UPI, PhonePe wallet, QR-based instant checkout |
| Cashfree | Recurring payments and Buy Now Pay Later | UPI AutoPay, cards, BNPL |
| MobiKwik | Wallet-first Indian audiences | MobiKwik wallet, ZIP Pay Later, cards, netbanking |
Connecting Razorpay (Most Common for Indian Creators)
- Create a Razorpay account and complete their KYC verification (this can take 1–3 business days for a new account).
- From your Razorpay dashboard, generate API keys (Key ID and Key Secret) under Settings → API Keys.
- In Koursely, go to Settings → Integrations → Payments and select Razorpay.
- Paste your Key ID and Key Secret. The secret is encrypted at rest and never displayed in full again after entry.
- Configure the webhook: Koursely provides a webhook URL to paste into your Razorpay dashboard's webhook settings, and a webhook secret to confirm signature verification. This is what lets Koursely mark an order as paid the moment Razorpay confirms it.
- Run a small test transaction to confirm the full flow — checkout, webhook confirmation, and enrollment — before going live.
Connecting Stripe
- Create a Stripe account and complete their verification.
- From the Stripe dashboard, retrieve your Publishable Key and Secret Key.
- In Koursely, go to Settings → Integrations → Payments and select Stripe, then paste both keys.
- Set your default currency if you're selling primarily outside India.
Webhook configuration is the step people skip. Without a correctly configured webhook, Koursely can't reliably confirm that a payment actually succeeded, which can cause students to be charged without being auto-enrolled. Always test a real transaction end to end after setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I connect more than one gateway at once?
Yes — a common setup is Razorpay (or another UPI-supporting gateway) for domestic Indian buyers and Stripe for international buyers, letting each audience check out with the payment method they're most comfortable with.
Does Koursely take any percentage of my sales?
No — Koursely charges 0% commission on every gateway, on every plan. The only transaction-level cost is your gateway's own processing fee, charged directly by that gateway.
My payment gateway isn't working — where do I start troubleshooting?
